The Greater Danbury Opioid Workgroup (GDOW) was formed to address the opioid crisis in our state. It is led by Western Connecticut Coalition and its membership has grown to include members from all sectors of the community, including: behavioral health and medical providers, people with lived experience and/or their families, youth and social services, government officials, and more.

Our mission is to combat the local opioid crisis by addressing addiction in the community, by enhancing collaboration and data sharing between groups, and sharing information and resources about addiction, prevention, harm reduction and treatment.
We aim to identify and help develop resources in our area to prevent opioid misuse, addiction and stigma and to address the treatment and recovery needs of all people.
