Greater Waterbury Opioid Workgroup
Every third Wednesday, 10:00 AM - 11:30 in person

This Waterbury Opioid Workgroup has been developed as a result of the opioid crisis in our state. We are concerned prevention, treatment and healthcare professionals, law enforcement, local officials, people in recovery from opioid use disorders, family members and others who endeavor to reduce the harmful effects of opioid misuse, abuse and overdose weigh on our region.

Regional Opioid and Other Drug Workgroup
We meet at 5:30 pm on the first Thursday of each month at the Stony Hill Fire Dept.
​
Prior to the onset of the opioid epidemic, this workgroup operated as the “Recovery Committee” at Housatonic Valley Coalition. The Opioid and Other Drug Policy Workgroup is comprised of a number of different treatment providers, people with lived experience and recovery supports, and meets monthly. The group focuses on other substances and emerging trends related to vaping, benzodiazepines, and cannabis. We generally have an outside speaker at monthly meetings and we develop a legislative agenda every year. Members of our group belong to various sub-committees of the CT Alcohol and Drug Policy Council which helps us to stay connected to current statewide information and programs.​
