Local Prevention Councils
The 43 towns in our service area are all served by a Local Prevention Council (LPC). These are grassroots coalitions are comprised of various stakeholders from 12 sectors of the community. The LPCs build local capacity to plan and implement substance use/misuse prevention strategies to reduce problem behaviors and associated negative outcomes for all ages. They also promote mental health and wellness.

LPC Leadership
The Prevention Committee consists of leadership and members from each of the Local Prevention Councils (LPCs) in Region 5.
The committee members assist Western CT Coalition to assess prevention needs and assets in the service area and to develop, implement and evaluate prevention programs in their respective communities that align with the Regional Priority Planning Report.
