The Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG) is a non-profit organization focused on prevention, advocacy, and education to reduce the harm associated with gambling. CCPG also offers 24/7 helpline to provide support, resources, and referrals for those impacted by gambling related problems.

MCCA has dedicated resources to treat those suffering from problem gambling with the Bettor Choice Gambling Program. This is an outpatient gambling specific treatment program funded by the State of Connecticut. Outpatient Treatment for Problem Gambling Includes
-
individual, group, budget counseling for both gamblers and family members
-
psychiatric evaluation for both gamblers and family members
-
couples and family counseling
​MCCA also provides short-term inpatient treatment for clients with a gambling problem at our McDonough House facility

DMHAS Disordered Gambling Integration Initiative (DiGIn)

Our regional partners Apex Community Care and McCall Behavioral Health Network are working toward increasing the capacity of substance use disorder and mental health treatment/recovery programs to address gambling and problem gambling through enhanced screening, assessment, awareness, intervention, recovery and health promotion strategies.
Gamblers Anonymous is fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from a gambling problem. Visit to locate a meeting near you.
​Gam-Anon is a self-help organization for the spouse, family or close friends of those with a gambling disorder.
Financial Literacy
The Western Connecticut Problem Gambling Awareness Team has identified Financial Literacy as a protective factor for problem gambling.

Self-Exclusion
What is Self-Exclusion?
It is a harm-reduction tool which allows individuals the option to voluntarily exclude themselves from certain gambling activities.
​
When You Voluntary Self-Exclude...
Those who enroll in self exclusion are prohibited from collecting from a licensee or operator:
- Any winnings
- Recovering any losses
- Accepting complimentary gifts or services
- Any other thing of value
Enroll Online With the State
To place yourself on the Connecticut Gaming SelfExclusion List visit the Department of Consumer Protection's website
Download the Forms From the Tribal Casinos
To place yourself on the Mohegan Sun and Foxwood Self-Exclusion Lists download and complete the form available at the links above

Determine How Long the VSE Will Last
VSE options are irreversible after enacted so consider the options carefully.
- CT offers terms of 1 & 5 years or permanently.
- Mohegan Sun offers terms of 1 & 5 years.
- Foxwoods offers terms of 5 years or permanently.
When the VSE Term Ends
Once you've reached the end of your selected term, you can choose to renew your VSE or end it. If you have selected a term other than permanent, you will remain on the self-exclusion lists until you remove yourself.
